The hustle and bustle that is characteristic of growing towns such as Ahero came to a temporal halt on December 02, 2016 when community members came together to clear filth from the streets, drains and gutters, during the town’s clean-up day exercise. The architect of this event was the Assistant Director of Department of Environment, Sospeter Onunga for Kisumu County. The event, also saw H.E Jack Ranguma, Kisumu Governor and other influential personalities, coming out of their various homes to join the exercise by cleaning their immediate surroundings.
Dubbed ″A Clean and sound environment, My responsibility,’’ the clean-up day is a concept instituted by the Council of Governors Symbiocity Programme with the aim of building the capacity of urban development stakeholders to guide in urban planning and development in a sustainable way
