The Council of County Governors (COG) is a non-partisan organization established under Section 19 of the Intergovernmental Relations Act (IGRA 2012). The Council of Governors comprises of the Governors of the forty-seven Counties. main functions are the promotion of visionary leadership; sharing of best practices and; offer a collective voice on policy issues; promote inter – county consultations; encourage and initiate information sharing on the performance of County Governments with regard to the execution of their functions; collective consultation on matters of interest to County Governments.

Today, the positivity rate as reported by the Ministry of Health in the Daily Situational Report isat 9.6% from a sample size of 2,515 individuals tested. Wehowever note that the decrease of the positivity rate is as a result of lack of testing kits in the Country. This poses a major challenge as the virus is spreading rapidly and could overstretch the county health facilities. As County Governments, we have engaged the Ministry of Health to avail testing kits to the Counties to ensure proper documentation of the magnitude of the disease within the communities and proper reporting of the factual situation which will then lead to proper response measures. In the last one week, County Governments have addressed themselves to the following critical issues:-
